Then came Barack Obama, who was born to save the world and air lift America out of the depression it had brought upon itself. Out came health insurances, policies benefitting the peoples. You get what the feel is? It was Yes, We Can, painted all over town! Not only in the Americas, but world over. Obama had hit the world like a Tsunami, with debatable effects of course. Bangalore would get Bangalored, and would trip on their own shoe laces. The Obama effect continued when he was honoured with the Nobel Peace Prize, which many thought was unwarranted for.
But the biggest feather on Obamas' feather studded cap would be the fall of the mighty giant, Osama Bin Laden, a 10 year nemesis of the world, especially the US. What is remarkable is the impeccable timing of his fall. According to the Indian news tickers, the news of the death of this giant was applauded with cheers of the crowds outside screaming for a 2nd term for Obama. Very timely, indeed! There were also a few news reports suggesting earlier about a bio warfare breaking out if and when Osama was captured or killed. The warfare has been overshadowed with a more preeminent situation. The fact that Osama was found outside Islamabad, outside Abottabad, around 30 kms from a Pakistan Military Academy, brings to fore, what the Indians have always prided themselves in saying, and the big question that looms ahead of us, was the Pakistan administration providing a safe haven to Bin Laden?
